Red Cross Student Movement

RCSM

The Red Cross Student Movement (RCSM) is an independent and student-led grassroots initiative that strives to support the Canadian Red Cross within the community. We are a coalition of students spanning Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, and various high schools across the lower mainland. Our mission is to engage the public with humanitarian issues and improve the lives of vulnerable members in our community. The Humanitarians in  Conference training has been created by the RCSM, however the HiT 2021 is being hosted by the UBC Red Cross Club outreach and awareness team and a few Simon Fraser University Students.

OUTREACH

By providing training, resources, and a peer network, our aim is to prepare motivated youth to make an impact both within and beyond the Greater Vancouver region. Following the Humanitarians in Training conference on November 18th, there will be follow up events planned where participants will have opportunities to network, form collaborations, brainstorm event ideas, and learn about effective club leadership and event planning.

GALA

In the past we hosted a gala fundraiser each year to support a program of the Canadian Red Cross. Over the last three years, our galas hosted a cumulative 600 attendees from across the community, and raised nearly $12,000 in support of local Canadian Red Cross Programs.
